Lake Towada typically sees the snow melt around May, and by June, the trees are adorned with young, bright-colored leaves, and many flowers bloom.

View from the HAKKA observation station. You can see the dragon stay on the clouds in June or July. It's not every day, it's from about 5 to 8 o'clock on a fine morning. It takes about 15 minutes from YASUMIYA village by a car.

The transparency of Lake Towada is 10 meters. When you peer into the water from a boat, it feels like looking down from the height of a third floor.

The temperature of Towadako's water is about 20 ℃ even in summer. It feels very good to swim in hot summer.I often swam at this beach during my summer vacations.

Do you know the distance to the horizon? It is about 4.5km. TOWADAKO is big lake. When the mountain on the other side is cloudy, it becomes the horizon.

It is a sight seeing ship of TOWADAKO. There is a course that departs from YASUMIYA and returns to YASUMIYA. And another course that departs from YASUMIYA to NENOKUTI(Near OIRASE stream).And the reverse course from NENOKUTI to YASUMIYA.

Can you recognize people in yellow clothes? It looks like three mens are standing on top of the tree. This is a special observatory in Towadako. Only local people can go to such a wonderful place now.

This is OTOME-statue.The author,”Kotaro Takamura”, expresses his wish for people to see the "Otome-Statue" standing in the primeval forest.Many visitors end up getting too close to the "Otome-Statue," and as a result, they miss the intended view by the author and leave disappointed. I find this to be a great waste.As the author wishes, the only way to see the "Maiden Statue" standing in the primeval forest is to view it from above the water. If you want to see this scene long times, I would recommend chartering a canoe or motor boat.

If you want to know the Otome-statu, you should go to "Platt". "Platt" is the information center of Towadako. There are Otome-statue explanation in English. Of course there are also good staff who speak English. They will always make your trip more enjoyable. You can also see alive Himemasu fish.
